2013-M01 "Oh My ..........!" Mystery

thanks Evelyn... that is lovely of you to give so much ... i did not know that we had an international quilting day ... i will have to mark that one in my diary ... and celebrate it by maybe buying some fabric or finishing something ....

marcos loves the table topper that came about from this mystery ... and i am quite partial to it too ... and i have used my gifted fabric well too ... a big thanks to the lovely lady who gave it to me ... i will treasure it always ...

and i have a wee bit of it left over too ... so i will either make myself a couple of placemats with it ... or ... make Roxi a table runner for the dresser they have in the lounge ...

she is also a green lady ..... with blues and reds please ....

Only 10 more sleeps (or possibly 11 (or more?) depending on where you live in the world and how many nanny naps you might take ha ha) to get your finished quilt pictures into the gallery girls by midnight 16 March 2013.

So get sewing and upload those pictures into the gallery as soon as you can..........

I am trying but I guess it won't be me... too much stacked against me......
I have a sore eye.... no idea why/what etc... hopefully it will be ok tomorrow and I can sew again

No new comments in here either so I can only imagine you are all busily sewing away to get the mystery quilt fully completed (quilted and bound) by midnight 16 March 2013 (so you can be in the running for a small prize)and don't have any spare time to post in here.

I have really enjoyed making this and had real life not thrown it it's little curve balls I would have been much more into it and finished by now. Sadly, some things have to take priority.
So, I now have a mountain of paperwork to complete for my father in law and hope to be back tomorrow!!!

That is most disappointing Lorna, I am sorry you have been waiting so long and I wish I had known earlier as I would have resent it.

No oopsie Bobbie, cause if you got the last email, which I sent on 1 March 2013 AEST, then it would have been in everyone's inbox at the same time cause they all went out in one email as usual.

I have had to assume everyone is getting the instalments ok as not all reply to the return read receipt I attach to each instalment email sent.

Thank you Bobbie for forwarding on the last PDF to Lorna.

All I can do is hope if someone doesn't get their mystery email instalment that they come in here and ask about it (like Lorna has) so we can get onto it right away.

You still have time Lorna to get your little quilt done and be in the running for the little prize on offer (thanks again Bobbie for your generosity).

I have sent out 7 emails in total for this mystery, the first went out on 31 January 2013 and the last (Big Reveal and completion instructions) was on 1 March 2013 AEST.

Hello Evelyn, I was just waiting to see what was going to come, when Bobbie finished and posted hers, and no other e-mail was received, I thought it was all over and done. Thanks Lorna

I had already sent out the instructions to everyone which is how Bobbie came to finish hers and post pictures in the gallery. I really expected someone in an earlier timezone than ours to have completed their quilt before Bobbie did.

Do you have all the instructions now Lorna?
The last one came with lots of coloured diagrams to follow for block placement.
If you read back about 3 pages you will see that the second prize is still up for grabs if you are interested? (Thanks to Bobbie)

As for mystery solutions, I would never leave anyone hanging.
Patchwork fabric is way too precious to not take a mystery seriously.
And we are not here to make UFOs or WIPs...... so..........
If you are in it, you get all the instructions to finish it.

I may not be online all the time, but others in the mystery come in occasionally (like Bobbie did - thanks) and can help if anyone has posted that they have missed their instalments or might need help of any kind.

It's all about friendship and sharing and that's why we come in here - right?

oh Evelyn ... i realised you sent them to everyone ... my 'oppsie' was meant very generally .. .. and more to an email program throwing it into a spam folder rather than delivering it ... anyway it is all fixed now ... lorna emailed to say she had gotten my email with the attachment ....

Thanks Bobbie, good to know Lorna got it this time. I know I sent them out on the 1st March but that is our time, it would probably have been in Lorna's email the day before (sounds funny that doesn't it?).

Do we know if everyone else got the last instalment and that it didn't go astray like Lorna's did?

And what about the second chance email notice, did everyone get that one too?

I won't be here much over the next week or two but others know how to contact me if I am needed. In the mean time, play nice and I look forward to seeing all those photos of finished quilts in the gallery soon too!

Mine is still in pieces...... my norti child got very sick and ended up in hospital so I have had no access to sewing... back home now and hope to get it done soon.

Thanks Lorna, we are all looking forward to seeing each other's finished quilts I'm sure - mine included! Remember, this is NOT a UFO creation thread! Although, mine is still in pieces so I could effectively put them into a bag with the pattern and make it into a kit? It could also be gifted down the track if I don't get back to it? That would not technically be called a UFO now would it?

I am back from visiting the grandies in the Sunshine state and yes, it really was sunshine while I was there! My hand has improved over the last 4 weeks and I will be back into sewing mode again in a few days once I get all the home-front re-organised again! It is amazing what husbands can get up to (or not up to) while us girls are away isn't it?

I am still in pieces, lol. My home life has just been insane the last 2 months and my facebook business has had an influx of orders, so the pony quilt has had to be packed up for now, however, I do have new shelves in the sewing room!

well done on your facebook business Karen ... you will be like our Irene soon .... and her nana's weighted blankets (for those who don't know) .... making millions of $$$$ and I can all say the same thing about you as I do her ... "oh I knew her when she was just like me ... poor ... we used to have coffee once every year or two ..... " ... pmsl ...

and i am sure your GD will get her pony quilt soon enough .... and good for you ... getting shelving in your sewing room .... tell me the secret on how to get that done please ... i want a couple put in the bus and do you think i can get it done ....
