Jen .. we can keep them a surprise ... or not .. that i leave up to the individual ...

there is no hard and fast rule on that .. and i don't think any of us would mind knowing what we are getting before it arrives ... still heaps of fun getting them ...

I like the surprise and guessing which one I am getting after I see the gallery pics...speaking of which, I can't see Jen's pic in the gallery.

no i can't see it either Karen ... but that is ok .. cos it will still be a surprise for Evelyn when it arrives ... haha ..

I was going to post the one Karen made for me, but she already did. I will let Evelyn post the pic of the one I made for her. At least that will be a surprise. Do most of you ladies quilt over your embroidery, or around it?

DARN!!! Not much point racing off to the gallery to see my wonderful new mug mat now is there!!!! I was just too excited there for a minute and almost visited the gallery without reading all the posts here! Oh well, at least I won't be the only one waiting to see what Jen has done for me now will I?

Jen I am still working on mine and I will be quilting first then embroidering over that. I guess it is up to the individual what and how we quilt. Everyone will have different ideas and they will all look beautiful in the end.

jen ... i am a lazy person by nature ... so .. with that in mind ... i figure .. as these are such smallish things ... they don't need quilting .. unless it is for pure decorative purposes ...

Well Bobbie, you were definitely not lazy when you made my first mug rug! It was quilted all over with minute stipples and it looks wonderful!

yes .... purely for decorative purposes .. cos those buttons and bows serve no other purpose ... oh ... apart from disallowing mugs and cake to fit on the ummmm ... mug rug ????

Actually, I was speaking about the VERY first mug rug you made me ages ago with gum leaves etc. And there is plenty of room on it for coffee and 2 pieces of cake cause there isn't a button or a bow in site!

oh that .. that was an oversized mugrug / undersized placemat .. haha ... it was a neither / neither one ... haha ...

lots of stippling on that one ... haha ..

Well, what ever it was, it was what I asked for and I love it!!!!

i think i should tell my partner .. ME BAD!!!! .............. i have your mug rug still here .. and i am still working on it .... only the binding to stitch down now ... and it will be in the mail on Monday ....


so it is not too far away ... i truly am sorry for being late with this ... i started with such high hopes of having it done early ...

Evelyn......I am still waiting for your's to arrive to you as well. I mailed it on Aug 15 at the Post Office. I am thinking I should make you another one.

Jen please don't make another one. It will turn up eventually. Maybe even in tomorrow afternoon's mail. I am not worried so don't you be worried either ok?

It seems like your packages get me sooner than my packages get to you. It's a holiday day here on Monday (Labor Day) so no mail' but I have high hopes it will arrive soon.

jen if you mailed it on the 15th .. then it has only been in transit for 2 weeks ... there is still plenty of time for it to arrive .... and yes .. things take longer here .... we are a very laid back country and nothing happens here fast .... especially mail deliveries ...


don't worry too much ... i am like evelyn and reckon it will arrive ... we just have to be a little patient ...

You're right I'm sure. Everything else I mailed to Australia on that day has arrived. But you never know.

Well, you do know the mail is primitive in some places, some people only get 3 mail deliveries a week?

when we were out at hannaford we got 2 deliveries a week ...

and Levi and Katie only get 2 as well ... isn't that shocking ... it is 2012 .... well in most of the world it is ...

Bobbie, what is the image please that only admins are allowed to see? I think I am an administrator, not on this forum of course but somewhere, like in the kitchen section or in the laundry department etc of our home, so come on ............ share please????
