Why don't you join in the fun of the next swap next month Wendy? They are really easy to make. It is the deciding of what to do that takes the longest I think........ perhaps that is my mistake? I think too much?

Well, how much 'damage' can she do at this time of day in spotty? Don't they close at 5 pm on Tuesdays? Hmmm, wonder what thread I have to start sewing my design with, or maybe I might have to go shopping too??? "Some people' will make up any excuse just to visit the spotted place, me included!!!

Of course I will Jen and a BIG THANK YOU in advance. I am sure it will be just lovely!!! I too (along with others here) have a very limited knowledge of hand embroidery and will be doing my best so as not to disappoint my swap partner (too much). I figure, if I do it to a standard I would be happy to receive then hopefully it will be acceptable by others. This particular swap is going to be stretching my skills to the maximum - and isn't that what it's all about? Trying something new and learning and having fun as we go?


But now of course - sadly this means I will NOT be the recipient of Tarnyia's stitchery and what ever it was that was so 'yummy' she was sending to her swap partner!! This now calls for an almost midnight snack to get over the shock - a small bar of dark chocolate maybe? Anyone want to share with me?

I asked my sister for her critique...and said "does this look like a child did it"? and she said YES so I apologise in advance to my mug rug recipient and ...the back is beautiful!

Is everyone using their mug rugs for mugs???? or are you putting them together or usung them for other things???

To date Wendy, I have a beautiful gumnut and leaves printer cover, a piano lazy susan mat and possibly a beautiful very green buttons and bows wall hanging? needle case?
tote bag feature pocket? All very treasured and loved and not a mug or cup has sat on any of them ............ yet!

Ohhhhhhhhh Evelyn - that alters the whole idea of using mugrugs. I think it's fantastic.

mine are all used as mug rugs ... plain and simple .. should they get messy .. into the machine they go ... very very simple ....


but i am still waiting for my 'buttons and bows' one .. it has not arrived yet ...

Mine are mug rugs......... I have been using my fabric coasters from the old cottage swaps for some years now and they all look a bit tired......my computer desk is the place I use my very first one......

yes i love my coasters too Karen ... they are all so lovely ... mind you .. only i get to use them ... unless i have a special visitor ... not family .. even tho they are special .. they are not visitors .. haha ...

my sister does not appreciate the beauty in them ... so i am not sharing with her ...
