The 8 inch (finished) block theme for this swap is .. In My Garden .... and the borders to be any shade of green ... so this could be flowers ... bugs .. birds .. trees ... i think you get the idea ... can't wait to see what you all come up with ... the block centres may be a charm square .. appliqued .. embroidered or paper pieced .. that bit is your personal choice ... don't rush them and remember to make something you would love to receive ... and remember ... you need to make 6 and photograph all of them to go into the draw ...

You must have your photos posted no later than midnight April 30th ... please post all photos in the gallery which you will find at the bottom of the home page ...

Remember .. no photo .. no entry ... ... no entry .. no chance to win ...

also please note ... we may have some international members joining in this swap .. which means you must be prepared to mail overseas .. the cost of this to the US would be between $2.35 and $4.70 ... depending on your fabrics and packaging .. i have sent similar in a plain envelope and can more often than not get it under the 50 grams and can send it for $2.35 ... and for those here in Australia .. you will need to fill out a customs declaration for it also ...

but you may not have to worry about the postage .. cos you may be the winner .. which means you get to keep yours and get a whole lot of squishies in the mail ... woohoo....

Winners will announced on the 1st of next month .... I will contact the winner to get a snail mail address and then will let you all know what that is ... via email ...

it will be lovely to have you all join in ... and don't forget to have lots of fun picking out your fabrics .....

no annie ... you did it right .. just not quite in the right place .. just make one more click once you are inside the lotto album .. click on the appropriate month .. and post your pic in there ... but .. should you put it where it don't go ... it is not biggie .. i can always fix it ...

Thanks for the info Bobbie, I will try to do better the next time. But I am wondering when you say garden do you mean a flower garden or veggie garden? Or do you mean your front yard where you would sit and watch the birds and smell the flowers? I am going to do mine today.

Annie, I reckon you can put your own spin on the theme. I think all of those you mentioned would be suitable. Visit the gallery and see what has been posted already? That may help you decide. I have already changed my mind from the original thought I had. Hope that helps?

i was in bed an realised that i had not done the winner for this block lotto ... so i dragged me out of bed and put all the names in a hat ...

now the names that went into the hat were ... Annie M ... Evelyn J ... Karen H ... Jan S ... and me ... i shuffled them ... once .. twice ... then three times .. threw the hat into the air and the first name to hit the floor was ..... ................ no .. not really ... i have a hard time reaching the floor these days ... so i just pulled a name from the hat .... and how wonderful .... the name of April's winner ....

i will send an email out to everyone else with Jan's snail mail address ... and we can send her our block entries ...


and Jan all you have to do now is let me know what the theme for next months lotto will be ...

Bobbie, When I was running the other lotto group, I used to wait until I had one of the girls on line and asked them to pick a number. But, first i took the list of names and gave them new numbers so whoever was picking a number did not know who they were picking either, I usually had Tarnyia pick. I don't know if that is any help.

Pathways and gardens sounds interesting Jan. I will be looking forward to seeing the finished quilt too!

Now onto the new theme: This one will surely stretch my imagination to the limits! I have been looking at owls now for some time but to date don't have any in my stash. My second granddaughter loves them and calls owls 'wowls'! I may have to go shopping or be a tad creative to join this lotto draw!
