i am still planning on making some ... the fabric i ordered ... for some reason went to katie and levi's old address ....

well i know the reason ... i put in an order online .. but didn't have my credit card with me to pay for it ... so closed down the website .... went to the bus and got my CC and came back ... put the same order in again ... this time changing my shipping address cos that came thru with the payment bit ... and actually got acknowledgement for THAT order .... and ... they processed the first order which had the old address .... duh!!!!


so i am now waiting for the lady at the gums PO to forward it to me ... she said she sent it yesterday ... hopefully so ... and i will have it by wednesday .... and get the blocks made by thursday and pic in the gallery ...... short month and all ... need to get them done real soon .....

oh and i have not mailed lorna's last lot off to her yet ... that too will get done on thursday .... i am a bit slow at stuff at the moment ... sorry girls ...

I was a little unsure about the blender fabric...lol... blenders... or coffee pots, hehehe but decided to run with it before I changed my mind.

lovely blocks ladies ... and i forgot to say ... well done karen for actually doing them ... i know you don't like birds ... or is that feathers ... or beaks .... between you and Wendy i get a little confused ... but i know neither of you like them much ...

haha, that is right, however, as scared as I am of birds.... fabric ones don't bother me, lol, just the real thing in close proximity of me.
I went to post the last months blockes, they weigh just over the allowable weight for international postage at the minimum $ .....so, the post office has deleted the C5 prepaid envelope now for international postage, had to resort to having them sent in my own envelope.....son in law suggested that for $2.60, 3 can go in a smaller business size envelope, so $5.20 for 2.......rather than the higher charges applicable now. Just a thought?

yes Karen . the Tara post office has been charging the $6 plus since before christmas ... and your SIL is correct .. sending them separately will be cheaper .. providing the PO classes them as letters and not merchandise ... they are rouges ..

i tried months ago to send mine in the international envelopes and was told they were for documents only ...

the post office i went to in townsville is the first one in ages that considered the envelope to be a letter ... i am not sure how we can get around this ... they are all out to make as much money as possible .. and they are blaming the internet for it too ... if people didn't email and PM and skype then they would not have to try to make up the shortfall ... apparently ...

The "weird" post office I went to this week said it can go as a letter provided it is under the 20mm but needed a customs dec. My usual one says letter size under 20mm does not need the dec. I will keep going to that one, lol.

letter size does not need a customs dec .. they are for parcels ... and there are different ones for different weights ... under 2kg parcels needs a CN22 ... not sure what the one over 2kg is ... but our bits won't go that heavy anyway ...


i am sure there is not one person running a post office in this country that has been properly trained by Aussie post .... we just got thrown in the deep end and had to ring upline to find stuff out as things arose ... what didn't arise .. we didn't need to know about ... but some just seem to 'make crap up' as they go along ... haha ...

oh ... sorry .. we did get 'training' modules .... but all the answers were in the back of the book ... and as i was never paid to do the training my answers were basically just .... " please refer to page whatever " ........... and nobody challenged me on it ... not even for the terriost training ... (deliberately spelled wrong .. cos the government is watching ... ) lol

Hmmmmmmmmmm all very interesting!! I had to fill in a CN22 for the FQ I sent to Jen recently and I had it folded flat in a C5 envelope? I think they are trying to drum up revenue in our local PO? Will try a larger PO next OS FQ to be sent and see if they treat it any differently...........
