oh wow .... that is such a fantastic idea ... i know i have no bird fabric but will go in search of some before i sign up ... or i will end up having to do paper piecing on 6 blocks and that my friends may be the end of me ... haha ...


so let me check what i can find first ....


oh .. i do have some rooster fabric here ... but they don't fly around in the sky ... off to ebay to have a look ... and if not there then maybe iddybiddydesigns.com may have something

you could always hand stitch some birds

hahaha ... you want them done this month right ..???? ... well if i hand stitch them they might be done by Christmas ...

and yes ... i really am that slow with the hand stuff ....

oh Lorna i totally agree ... but i am not sure if i have THAT much time haha ... i hand stitch oh so slowly ... i see others fly thru hand stitching and wish that i could half of what they do in the same period of time ... but not so .. my hands and my brain give up .... more so the brain ... i get a little bored with it and then get very easily distracted ...

i swear i have ADD at times ....... hubby tells me i should be on ritalin they way my mind works ... or should i say overworks .... some days it is so bad i walk in circles ... haha ... but i have always been like it so i guess i am used to it .... it is either that or i am just hopeless ...

Wow girls, Those birds are so pretty. I was going to do mine today but I just got a call for help. The Deanery is putting on a fund raiser dinner this afternoon and need me to "whip them into shape" as I have just been told. Oh the life of a retired girl.
Well need to finish this friends dress and shower. Will try and do mine tonight or tomorrow

Hi Ann, you sound busy! As for being retired, everyone else thinks that is a genuine reason for asking you for your help..... "she is retired now and has plenty of time"! ha ha Just ask my mother in law, she was even more busy when she retired than she was working full time and volunteering! ha ha

By the way......... what is............."The Deanery"? I have visions in my head of you 'whipping them into shape'........... but the visions are pretty sketchy not knowing what The Deaney is? ha ha

Yes Bobbie you are right that is it. It used to a children's summer camp run by the Anglican Church. It was used for many many years and it was very busy. It is now called The Deanery. A woman named Kim Thompson bought it and is redoing it. It is very hippie dippy sort of thing. It is a klm up the road from me. When I go for my walks that is where I walk to.

We were just up there to a knitting thing there a few weeks. There may be pictures on their facebook page.

my fabric arrived today ... blue is not quite what i wanted .... so will have a hunt thru my tubs and see if i can find something a little softer ... and then i should have some pics up later today ...

Well Bobbie, what was that rule regarding fabric stash and storage space in the bus?
You get to buy some new fabric if you use some of your stash?
Hope you can find something suitable to use or you might have to send the new fabric back?

i am actually just buying bits as i need them Karen .. and the stash is just sitting there looking over stuffed and as gorgeous as ever ....

oh ... and while he continues to smoke ... i will continue to purchase what i want ... as long as i can use it up without storing too much of it ... heeeheeee

Now that's a plan Bobbie, but.......... where will you store all your newly made items? Oh, I have a solution............ send them to me to store 'for you'!

i have room for mugrugs Evelyn ... cos they get used ... under the sink i have 2 baskets ... one with t-towels in it and the other has placemats and mugrugs ... i still have room for more .. haha ... will always have room for more ... cos really i only need 2 t-towels ... so i have in fact got 2 baskets for mugrugs ... cos the placemats ... well they can always be stored with the table toppers in the other cupboard ... haha ..

i have a plan for everything you know ... lol

ok .. while T is away for a few days she asked if i would do the draw for this months blocks ... and ... i had our sweet little Chance do the draw for me this morning ... and ...

the lucky winner for this months 'bird' blocks is ..............
