Now there's a sobering thought that is mind boggling to the extreme........... but



............ as you pointed out Bobbie......... I am good at unopened parcels, but I think this is a little different when I am the only one who knows what is 'inside' and I just want to ............ ummm .......... share! Patchwork is all about sharing, right?

Now how will I ever be able to contain myself and what is the best thing for me to do so I don't slip and 'let it out'? Hmmmmmmmm I know....... I will get off here and do some housework to take my mind off it (well for the minimum time that it will take me to 'tidy up' - no peeking my friends, especially under the throw rugs or cushions please if you visit, who knows what you will find!!! Maybe the answer to the mystery? haha). That little chore will not take too long, so next best thing is to make a shopping list for another project and ......... go shopping? Now that might just do it and keep me out of here all day tomorrow too! Well, I think it will work better than the housework idea anyway!!!

Hmmm.... I am all out of guesses.... and no hints slipped in when I asked.... she is a very good secret keeper.

It was lovely catching up with you on the phone today Karen. I really am a good secret keeper, because I prize your friendship highly! I do have to tell you though (and anyone else who phones/ drops in), if I accidentally give the game away, I will have to disqualify you (and myself of course) from winning the mystery block name prize that is up for grabs, and I don't want to do that now do I!



I will not be back until tomorrow evening now......... so please play nice and remember it is the first one to post the name of the mystery block that will win the prize, so if any participant thinks they know it, please have a go.

And yes, the prize is a mystery too......... but it is purple!!

don't feel too bad Karen .... broken dishes was the very first block i thought of .. then our fearless instructor kept making references to nautical things so i thought long and hard along that line ... then i saw other so called 'clues' which only served to confuss me more than ever ..... so i thought .... i am going to stop now before i go crazier than i already am .... after the next installment ... tomorrow ... and after i get some more sewn together ... then i will have another think ... will go have a look at what they all look like scattered over my bed ... and see if i can make a block out of the jigsaw puzzle that we have so far ....


the cat is away ... we mice should play .... haha ...

Lorna that does sound like a nice idea (for the first ever cottage mystery) doesn't it! But I KNOW there will be a clear winner as soon as the last unit is made, that is why I have kept the last unit till, well............ last! ha ha

As soon as you see what the block is Bobbie, you will kick yourself (or me if I was close enough to kick!! haha) about all the nautical clues I have been giving, and there have been a bountiful lot that have probably slipped by you my friend (and everyone else too for that matter) with out you even noticing! Like ships in the night, you just can't see them, but you will when the reveal happens! ha ha And I thought you were one of the ones who knew me well in here! I did notice some here have 'committed mutiny' (how's that for another nautical post Bobbie? ha ha) and are not guessing out loud any more..................

i haven't gotten mine either karen .. so i am making more placemats for the kids ... mystery will have to wait till they are completed now ... can only drag out so much stuff in the bus before i end up in such a mess that i can't find anything, and when that happens i get too pissed off to sew .. haha ... so i am trying to stick to one thing at a time ... trying ... haha ...

Got mine!! and still no clue, lol

got mine .... now i printed it off ... and will go back down to the bus and see if i can push the placemats to one corner of my tiny table ... drag out my zippy bags of fabric and bits and pieces ... and ... make a block or two and see if i can work out the name .... 2 word name of this block .... not the mystery name ... just the name of the block ....


2 words ... one of them may or may not be star or stars ... i could be just going star-k raving mad ....

ok ... i have my bits together ... and i have laid it all out ... i have a pattern ... very very pretty too ... now i just have to work out the name of the block ... i know i have seen it ... but just don't know the name .... bugger bugger bugger .... be back soon ....

In answer to one of Lorna's posts on 20 Feb I confirmed that one of the two words was indeed star/stars. I will accept either one in the answer as being correct.

Maybe you should take a photo of it Bobbie?
That way you can pack it away for safe keeping and still be able to see it?
