I have been kicking around the idea of joining in here, Evelyn...and I've had to go with the NO category...just too much to do, with Josh in a new school away from his problem bullies at Narangba SS, and having extra literacy lessons, I"m his support person for those...and goodness knows whatever else will be coming up with school sport and life in general. I do not like to promise but not deliver an outcome in a swap/mystery quilt. But I am following with interest and looking forward to seeing the splendid outcomes of all u other ladies!

sounds like you have your days ahead very full Deb ... give Josh a hug and tell him i reckon he will love his new school ...


when will he get to go ... are you under water there .... so many roads closed down around where Levi and Katie are ... their boys won't be going to school any day soon ...

Oh Lorna, I am so sorry you didn't get the email I sent out to both you and Michele on 25 January. I assume Michele didn't get the email either as she has not replied? I have just sent it again to BOTH of you marked high priority.

Welcome aboard Deb! Not everyone will be able to actually participate in the mystery, but it will be fun to have you ride along and enjoy the fun with the rest of us.

so i am also guessing that the 1st will be tomorrow ... which means i really must get cracking and sort thru some fabric .... and will have to do it tonight i guess ...

off to do groceries today .... and then a nice swim this afternoon .... lovely day here ...

Bobbie, I will close this mystery midnight on 31st everywhere. I don't mind playing catch-up once if there are others overseas who would still like to join and haven't yet.

I will be emailing for delivery each Friday local time, which means for delivery each Thursday overseas, depending on what time you check your emails. Each mystery instalment will be sent to all participants in a bulk email at the same time, so mail-outs will all be uniform.

Jen asked earlier about the awarding of prizes: these will go to who ever posts first with the correct answer\completed project, as described earlier in the opening post on page 1. I don't expect any correct answer to be posted for at least 2 weeks.... but then again .................?

Prizes will be posted to the winner/s after the first completed project is posted, just in case the same person wins both prizes.

and i have posted a photo of my fabrics ... hope they work as it is all that i have here that blend and are the right lengths ...

if not ... it will be just one more ... ufo ... lol

I've just spent the last 40 minutes catching up on the posts.
Have been out and purchased my fabrics which I will post photo in the gallery.
Their in the machine being washed and hung out to dry so will press them in the morning and start the cutting.
Now to answer the quilt questions
I'm making the quilt for myself as I usually give them away to family but decided to keep this one...
It's going to be a table topper for the dining table.
Was going to purchase shabby rose and soft greens but as you can see found something different... lol
Have lots of cotton batting that came off my first quilt and it's taking up too much room so will probably bind it together with that new seam tape if I can find it.
Haven't tried machine quilting except stitch ditch which I like so probably will try that.
Now must admit I haven't made a quilt from scratch except a shaggy quilt (lap size) and my original which was a beginners quilt over 4-5 years ago. Lots of fabric and not much time but 2013 is going to change all that.
I'm excited and looking forward to keeping this one going.
